Support for Faculty and Colleges

Curriculum

Co-ops:

Academic courses with paid, major- or career-related, progressively responsible real-world experience over multiple semesters. Methods are 1) alternating semesters of full-time experience with full-time classes and 2) part-time experience with flexible hours, concurrent with classes. Courses are non-credit or credit depending on a student’s academic program.

Internships:

An academic course provides one semester of paid or unpaid, major- or career-related real-world experience. Credit is available depending on a student’s academic program.

Service-Learning:

Incorporated into classes with an SL designation, the service experience is used as a means to help students learn course content and gain an appreciation for civic engagement and service to the community.

Additional Options:

Practica, clinical practice, college department internships, senior design projects, cornerstone/capstone courses, research, and student abroad opportunities are available in college departments.
